This Modern Love - Kelham Island, Sheffield

Why do I love Kelham Island so much?

Well, Kelham Island is the heart of one of Sheffield’s oldest manufacturing sites. I love the rugged and raw feel of the buildings and for those of you who know me well, you'll know I adore an old warehouse or a raw cavernous building just waiting to be styled. A real blank canvas.

In fact, Kelham Island is my favourite Love Island!

The Chimney House is one of the many renovated buildings that is just perfect for a wedding. It looks awesome from afar with it's distinctive 93ft chimney. It's set on the riverside with a gorgeous cobbled street leading up to it.

This very spot was where our "This Modern Love" shoot was based!

The day was masterminded by the awesome pair Nicki of Nicki Shea Photography and Jade of Hushabye Films, as part of their 'Killer filler' photography and film workshops.

The raw red brick wall backdrop in the Chimney House was the perfect setting for our stunning bride cry__baby6 to have some kickass boudoir shots while getting dressed before hooking up with her groom @domwalsh93.

The stunning flower crown was created by Folky Dokey and the veil by Sash & Veil. The vintage boudoir dress was by Wild Daisy Vintage.

Dom wore a Top Shop suit for the big day, showing "off the peg" can still look super stylish.

That bow! What else could you possible need when you've got that bow?! It was the creation of Love From Becky and the hairstyling was from the one and only Sheffield based Ballocks .

Is any wedding complete without a banner? I think not! This one was handcrafted by Daydreamer Creative Studio, she also styled the table settings and set ups on the day to perfection.

Florals! No wedding would be complete without a bouquet and a whole host of floral arrangements including a very cool dried flower cloud. Sheffield florist Meadows and Mulberry Weddings did not disappoint with an array of fabulous florals.

Just look at that fringing too. Our bridal outfit complete with shakey, shimmerey fringing was from Poppy Perspective and it was joyous to watch the movement from the skirt in the Sheffield sunshine. The gorgeous dress was accessorised with jewellry from Victoria Louise Accessories.

Yes, yes, yes to pinatas and wedding cake. Not just one tier, not two or three even, but SIX yes SIX whole tiers of gorgeous pastel coloured wedding cake by yours truely Urban Cakehouse. The funky matching pinata was created by the wonderful Pinyatay .

There should always be a little 'you' time on your wedding day, just you and your partner reflecting on the day. Where better than a stroll for two around the uber cool streets of Kelham Island. There are plenty of great spots for photo ops too, like this Jo Peel streetart which is one of my favourites.

Let's take a stroll and see some of the area.

So what do you think? Are you loving my Love Island as much as I love it? Is it the perfect setting for your urban wedding? I'd say so!

Here's a few more gorgeous photos from the day by Nicki - enjoy .......
